2021 marks 1400-years after the death of Shōtoku Taishi: the Imperial Prince, influential statesman, and founder of Buddhism in Japan.

This exhibition, titled 'The Life and Legacy of Shōtoku Taishi', explores key events in Shōtoku Taishi's life through his interactions with three powerful women: Princess Anahobe no Hashihito (his mother), Empress Suiko (his aunt and regnant of Japan at the time), and Kashiwade no Oiratsume (his favourite consort).
